Abstract

This review focuses on anticorrosive coatings that use graphene oxide (GO) nanoparticles as the active filler. GO's unique properties, including high surface area, mechanical strength, and thermal conductivity, make it highly desirable and increasingly used in composite materials. The review discusses the synthesis methods of GO-based coatings, their protective functions, the mechanism of anticorrosion, and techniques to enhance their overall properties. The paper also highlights several modification strategies for GO and its synergistic effect when combined with other compounds to improve its effectiveness as an anticorrosive coating. their protective functions, the mechanism of anticorrosion, and techniques to enhance their overall properties.
